License tagging for Image:HVD official logo.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:HVD official logo.jpg. Wikipedia gets thousands of images uploaded every day, and in order to verify that the images can be legally used on Wikipedia, the source and copyright status must be indicated. Images need to have an image tag applied to the image description page indicating the copyright status of the image. This uniform and easy-to-understand method of indicating the license status allows potential re-users of the images to know what they are allowed to do with the images.

For more information on using images, see the following pages:

This is an automated notice by OrphanBot. If you need help on selecting a tag to use, or in adding the tag to the image description, feel free to post a message at Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. 06:07, 30 April 2007 (UTC)

Orphaned non-free image (Image:EHitcom.jpg)

[edit]

Thanks for uploading Image:EHitcom.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. BetacommandBot 05:24, 17 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, such as in Talk:Large denominations of United States currency, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you. MBK004 15:00, 15 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

How can someone who claims to be an "advanced mathematician" at the same time claim that 0.999... does not equal 1? =) –King Bee (τγ) 14:39, 15 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding 1 "One can not have what 1 is not" In the end, infinity is only as infinite at we perceive it to be. If, infinity is computed within the dimensional boundaries of our existence, but not in another's existence, than infinity does in actuality have an end, and therefore is not infinite. It's a quantum-mathematics paradox, and meant to make those familiar with it smile, and confuse and puzzle mathematicians of other studies. It obviously worked.
OK, but what you wrote just makes absolutely no sense. I suppose I was hoping that you would have some rigorous logical reason for "believing" such. Nevermind. –King Bee (τγ) 12:30, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]
Simply put, .9999... is still not quite there. It's almost 1, but it can never truly be 1. :) Lostinlodos 15:20, 16 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

Your comment: "The list is of men who died a very deserving death for their goals; to replace the rational, peaceful Buddhist philosophy with their violent, disgusting enslavement to the cloud people way of life." is both unhelpful and contradictory. If the men who died were the ones who were so violent, why were they the ones who were killed by the advocates of "peaceful" Buddhism? I find this sort of remark to be out of step with Wiki policy on talk pages and if it were made by an anonymous IP address, it would be just as non-constructive but much less surprising.Brian0324 (talk) 15:00, 20 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You can only poke, prod, stab, and push for so long before a person fights back. The deaths, be it the entire 'rebellion' was a rising against the western imperialists and the invasion of their previously peaceful nation. I've apologised for the lack of usefulness of my comment, though I stand behind the message, and can not apologise for that.

Edit warring over a country name is a good way to get blocked. And cutting and pasting the Talk page from one name to another is a copyright violation. Please don't move the article name again without consensus. Corvus cornixtalk 22:23, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

According to ALL and EVERY wikipedia and sub-/partner- project page regarding 'edit warring', by it's various names and terms, I must partake in multiple changes of edits. No such "warring" has taking place as I did not make more than one REVERT or SUBVERT edit. I also did not cut and paste, I was simply blocked out before finishing the modification (changes made since I hit the edit tag). I've been here quite some time. You, or others ma block my account if you wish for removing a political bias and point-of-view, for updating a collection of articles to CURRENT INTERNATIONAL REALITY, but call it as it is and don't hide behind fantasy charges of actions I did not commit. As for copyright, I am a legal practitioner (records and licence verifiable), I am well aware of what copyright is and challenge you to prove that I violated any such legal regulation and that the intended finished set of edits (a re-direct) would have violated any legal law.

Rather than attack; you would find a more interested listening reaction by discussing. Your charges are unfounded and statements of claimed or intended criminal activity without proof and documented evidence, as well as court decision (copyright violation) to any party other than site management, the claimed infringer, or law-enforcement, is a good way to find yourself in serious legal trouble. Wikipedia has various copyright DISPUTE tags you could have notified me with. You are flat out WRONG in the statement that I have violated copyright. You have now committed an act of defamation in public record. Do NOT do that again, to myself or anyone else.

Take into account I'm not threatening you, I'm warning you; use your head! My intentions AS STATED ON MY USER PAGE are to remain politically neutral. The current Myanmar series of redirects (fact: there is no legally recognized entity in current existence know as or with the inclusion of Burma) are a spider's web mess. Half the wikipedia SITE's links go nowhere. See: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wikipedia:Redirect#Undesirable_edirects. How-about another fact of this situation; I was working from the bottom of the pile up; to correct EVERY redirect. That's something no one else has taken the time to do, including yourself.

One does not have to agree with a situation to admit it exists. I myself practice a branch-offshoot of Buddhist Philosophy. Personally knowing people who live there, and having visited Myanmar; I feel deeply for the people struggling in that country. My personal feelings did not hinder in my recognition of the legal reality that the country is not called Burma. When completed; the series of edits, would have be complete, USABLE, correct, and free from POV.

Please point to where you discussed this move and obtained consensus prior to making it. Also point to where you did a MOVE instead of a copy and paste edit which lost the edit history and therefore violated copyright. Corvus cornixtalk 23:27, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
First sentence; Which move are you referring to? And since when has consensus been required for a (redirect)? No move was intended and no move would have existed in the final edit; only redirects. In order to pull out each separate thread from the big tangled mess; and guarantee I could both back-track and recover (in the extreme case) if something came up lost along the way and didn't match up. Again, you came out of the gate attacking; that's not the way to discuss a matter. Backtracking it looks like what you are referring to was a missed sandbox edit (I hit save rather than show preview, or save on the wrong page; it happens to those guys with 10k+ edits too!. Oops, move on.... Unfortunately another edit attempt was made before I could revert my own mistake, and that's when your message poped up. The Myanmar issue is a hotly controversial subject. Editing (as proven here by my not finishing before changes were made)takes place constantly and it is difficult to stay ahead of the pack inorder to get things untangled. Rather than continue on, I'd let you hash it out here with me first.
If the reference was to the copying of the article itself; GO BACK AND LOOK AT THE HISTORY FOR BOTH YOURSELF and you see they were identical prior to my edit (part of the redirect mess). It was a temporary fix and the save was again inadvertent and would have been temporary if the re-redirect did not occur. .
As for copyright violations; all six international copyright treaties recognized by the United Nations, the World Court of Justice, and the World Criminal Court require INTENT to commit.

Lostinlodos 07:22, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

You didn't redirect Burma to Union of Myanmar, you copied the text out of the Burma article and pasted it into the Union of Myanmar article. And don't give me international law, what you did is violation of Wikipedia policy. Corvus cornixtalk 17:35, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
# (cur) (last) 17:15, 3 December 2007 Lostinlodos (Talk | contribs) (30 bytes) (←Redirected page to Union of Myanmar) (undo)

End of that discussion! The final result did not violate any policy. The final result did not violate copyright lay (nor did the incidental edits). I will quote law when you falsely state that I violate it. And by the way; do a side by side comparison of the "cut and paste" edit ON THE SAME PAGE (pay attention to the redirects before you make claims) As I said; unintentional save page click vs show preview. No history was lost.

You failed on all three counts against me. I am terminating this discussion as you are obviously no more willing to give on the subject (here) as I. If you still feel I've made some grievous error, feel free to forward this discussion to a site authority/administrator and allow them to contact me. There is nowhere else for this discussion to go now between us. Lostinlodos 18:59, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

So are you saying that this is not a cut and paste? Corvus cornixtalk 23:37, 4 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Please see Wikipedia:Administrators'_noticeboard/Incidents#User:Lostinlodos. Corvus cornixtalk 23:44, 4 December 2007 (UTC) No; that was unintentional; as is said on the talk page there as well, or atleast one of them, Myanmar has four talk pages now. That was NOT supposed to be on that page but an edit (again check history) was made at the redirected redirect prior to my saving the initial redirect therefore creating a copy rather than a nothing different. Whilst you may be a great and mighty being free from all flaw, us normal people make mistakes, for the 6th time, that's unintentional, I'm sorry, if I had caught it myself prior to your (rather quick, and overzealous) message I would have reverted it myself. COPY FROM TALK PAGE:

I know this is quite old and outdated at this point, but I apologize anyway for an older edit from the improper unrecognized name Burma to the proper recognized Myanmar as the poster who scolded me was correct as I now see/notice that it was a copy and not a move. That "copy" page was supposed to be a /sandbox page, not a real page. Again I apologize....Lostinlodos (talk) 16:43, 8 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

General Motors

[edit]

I can't confirm any dealerships actually offering 2008 Daewoos in the United States at all. Parts, perhaps, but not cars.

As for Geo, I drive past one of the nation's largest Chevy dealers on nearly a daily basis, and have yet to see a new Geo on their lot since they removed the Geo sign years ago. Nor can I find any reference to any vehicles by those names.

In addition, the EPA's fueleconomy.gov site does not list anything under the Daewoo or Geo makes, even as sub-brands of Saab or Chevy, respectively. Nor can I find them on edmunds.com or kbb.com. Combined, this leads me to conclude that any appearance of 2008 models in the US is because they have been imported by a third party, not the manufacturer, and therefore should not be considered active brands in North America.--Scottr76 (talk) 07:57, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

My assumption from your other work here is that you live in, near, or around Detroit, MI. It's unfortunate that Detroit is still stuck in the old ways, but their not on the map of any manufacture, domestic or otherwise, for green or selected products; primarily because surveys, all posted in stock holder's quarterlies, show that the general population in that local is not interested in them, or in paying extra for green versions of existing models. GM isn't going to make the mistake of pushing a product on a populous not interested in it, until they are mandated to do so.
Daewoo cars are imported to select (progressive) markets by authorized GM dealers, including Chicago, St Louis, LA, New York, Boston, Denver, Madison, and Minneapolis (that I know of). Since the FDOT considers any product sold to be an active brand/line, I'll go by their definition. The three Chevy Geo models are manufactured at the Janesville, Wisconsin (who's primary product is SUVs and pickup trucks.) The 2007 4th quarter Stock Holders Catalogue and Manual claims that 60000 2007 Geo models were ordered, and that there is a waiting list for 2008s; they're also sold in the noted markets, and under the Opel brand overseas. http://www.gmdat.com/kor/index.jsp Lostinlodos (talk) 11:11, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Super Famicom

[edit]
Quoted from User talk:Anomie:
The Famicom Disk System was a magnetic disk media reader for for the NES. The Super FamiDisc was a Magnetic/Floptical disk/{c} system for the Super Famicom. I've reverted AND edited in the reference to the separate units. The second one also played the FDS games as well.(they're also both sitting in front of me :) As a side note, you also removed the CD add-on and data card games from from NeoGeo! How anyone can contribute so well to video game articles and not recall the NeoGeo CD is beyond me. Lostinlodos (talk) 06:15, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
I saw an edit mentioning the non-SFC "Famicom Disc System", something called "FamiDrive" that has next to no Google hits, and a reference to "Floptical" that I could only find mention of related to an early SFC prototype. If you can supply some sort of reliable source related to the existence of any of this when you re-add the information, that would be helpful.
As for the NeoGeo CD edit, I overlooked that. Sorry! Not that I'm terribly clear on how it relates to the actual NeoGeo, and not that I've ever actually seen either of them. ;) Anomie 06:27, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
RE; your response on my page... I believe I edited over my reference tag in the last edit. My bad. Added it back in for you to check if you will. The NeoGeo CD unit had a dozen or more different flavours and was never really "finalized" in its design nor method. It was, however, quite popular over in Eastern Europe and Asia. You had the kind that plugged into the side (like the 2.0 Sega CD), the kind that plugged into the expansion port in the bottom or the one in the back (ala Sega CD 1.x). There was a third-party coupler that plugged into the side panel version of the drive and slid into the card port on the unit. Japan and Korea even shared a unit that was all in one (I believe some parts of Europe had seen it as well), much like the Neptune CDX. It was the most de-centralized "official" system, historically, but also the most sought after. Working ones still sell for over $100. online an over $2 in fan-shops. Lostinlodos (talk) 07:07, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Except for the lack of a page number, author, publisher, and publication date, the reference looks ok (in general, try to include as much of the information asked for by {{cite book}} as you can, although use of the actual template is optional). I was hoping for something I had access to so I could learn more about this, but such is life. I Googled for the "FamiDisc" you mentioned earlier and checked the (filter forced edit)www. digitpress (dot) com/ website for the Digital Press you referenced, but still no luck for me. Anomie 13:10, 7 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The book is often made available from 3rd party sellers on Amazon, 'though it's out of print now. I believe there are 3 editions of their 3 "editions" (generational coverage), and that I know of atleast 7 revisions of the first two books. I fixed the reference tag with the standard use template. HD DVD

[edit]

Unfortunately the standard name for Blu-ray Disc has a lower case r and a capital D. Hence "Blu-ray Disc" and not "Blu-Ray Disc" is correct. Actually the sentence also has an additional error since the name is Blu-ray Disc, so it should something like be "... that could read both HD DVD and Blu-ray Disc." The 2nd D in HD DVD also stands for disc. And I believe only the first word of headers and proper nouns are capitalized. PaleAqua (talk) 14:12, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Also I apologize for not leaving a better edit summary for that change. I thought that the description that 212.32.82.101 was okay when they original made the change, but should have said as much in my edit. PaleAqua (talk) 14:18, 20 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

RE: ECW Hardcore TV

[edit]

Ah, okay. I see now what you meant.

Well, actually, when they switched away from the NWA, the theme became this:

  • The opening notes of "Closer", as the letters of E-X-T-R-E-M-E flashed onto the screen, interspersed with short footage clips.
  • THEN the "Thunderkiss '65" kicked in, and continued for the rest of the intro.

Two different songs, one intro, that's why I wrote "mix" in the box. Read the Closer (Nine Inch Nails song) article, it probably explains it better.

In the future, if you have issue with one particular point, please just change that and explain why. Don't just revert a whole edit because of an issue with one small part of it. My edit had also included modifications to reference citations, they had nothing to do with the theme music. But your revert changed them back into unusable links.

TravelingCat (talk) 19:51, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I just re-read what you wrote. It's incorrect. "This is Extreme!" did not exist until 1997. From 1994 to 1997, they used the mix of "Closer"/"Thunderkiss '65" I described above.
See this page for verification: "The opening theme music used to consist of a combination of Nine Inch Nails' "Closer" (the heartbeat that spells out E-X-T-R-E-M-E) which cuts to White Zombie's "Thunderkiss '65" (the guitar part and the Pitbull's music). After Barely Legal, they switched a specially written, non-commercial piece of music as their new theme." Barely Legal was April 1997. If you still don't believe this, then I'll find more pages that back it up.
Maybe you're watching ECW on the WWE 24/7 network, I don't know. But if that's the case, then WWE probably just isn't using the original music for licensing reasons.TravelingCat (talk) 20:00, 4 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I have tagged Image:Logo_organic.gif as a disputed use of non-free media, because there is a concern that the rationale you have provided for using this image under "fair use" may be invalid. Please clarify your fair use rationale on the image description page. Thank you. Rockfang (talk) 12:17, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Lostinlodos, I appreciate your concerns about the CH-DVD article. I'm sure your changes are made in good faith. However, I don't believe all the changes were accurate. There are major technology publications that have been following the progress of CH-DVD, but none of them are reporting that the product has been released. If you need a space to prepare your article changes before you make them, you can use a Sandbox, or create one on your user pages, then copy & paste the completed information to the article. I've discussed the article changes on the discussion page. Regards, Lester 22:58, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for uploading Image:Sigh Demo 4.ogg. You've indicated that the image is being used under a claim of fair use, but you have not provided an adequate explanation for why it meets Wikipedia's requirements for such images. In particular, for each page the image is used on, the image must have an explanation linking to that page which explains why it needs to be used on that page. Can you please check

  • That there is a non-free use rationale on the image's description page for each article the image is used in.
  • That every article it is used on is linked to from its description page.

Speedy deletion of Image:NetFlix.jpg

[edit]

A tag has been placed on Image:NetFlix.jpg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section I6 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a non-free image with no fair use rationale uploaded after May 4, 2006 which has been tagged as not having a rationale for more than 7 days.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on [[ Talk:Image:NetFlix.jpg|the talk page]] explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Thanks for the feedback on the edits. Being a newer editor, I would have preferred that someone more experienced tackled those article issues, but was forced to make them myself. That article seems to be a hotbed for conflict resulting in alot of changes being reverted. But not many seem to read the talk page.

In addition to the changes from yesterday, I removed a parenthesis that was stranded in that same paragraph. Also, I re-wrote that sentence regarding kiosks to make it a smoother and more wikified read. Question: In your opinion, should there be an external link or other reference to companies such as adultdvdempire that don't have their own wikipedia articles? [edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:Pc engine logo.gif.

You can find a list of "file" pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. FileBot (talk) 10:49, 22 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

DVD region code

[edit]

Hi Lostinlodos, as a Hong Kong resident, I cannot find any conclusive evidence to suggest that Hong Kong supports DVD region 3 (Hong Kong) and region 6 (Mainland China). DVDs in Hong Kong are either region 3 or region free. There is a reason why Hong Kong and China have different regions, partially due to China's strict laws regarding certain film - Blu-ray region codes also are different for Hong Kong and China respectively. The Chinese Wikipedia article for DVD region code also lists "China" exclusively as region 6, with "Hong Kong" as part of region 3 only. When you look up DVD region codes on search engines, no website that I found lists Hong Kong as part of region 6.

North Korea WMD article tags

[edit]

I reverted your addition of the tags; you have not identified any specific issues in the article or initiated a discussion on the article's talk page regarding the deficiencies you see there.

This is not a rejection of the possibility of there being an issue - but I would appreciate it if you'd go through and list what your specific concerns are, citing article sections and if possible specific text in the article that you object to. I think I understand where you're coming from, but the article is pretty well sourced matches other nonproliferation information openly available in the west. If specific parts need fixing due to not being well sourced, being overly critical / not NPOV, etc. then we need those identified. Though I understand why you're concerned, I don't know where I'd start fixing things now; the article lines up with what I know about the underlying issue pretty well and sources I use and work with.

If you are willing to do that and identify the issues that you believe need discussion or remediation, I am fine with you re-tagging the article while discussion is going on about those specifics.

Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura

[edit]

I deleted your edit to Conspiracy Theory with Jesse Ventura because it reads like a personal opinion (see WP:NPOV) and you didn't verify it by citing a source (see WP:CITE). That show is very controversial and to avoid problems you should make sure your edits can be verified by a reliable 3rd party source before you add them. Thank you. Cyberia23 (talk) 17:24, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

The problem is, if they haven't shown proof, then you need to find someone else, (the more the better) that is claiming the same thing, otherwise it's appearing to be a personal opinion. I agree, the article is unbalanced, and I also support the show. But when you say things like that someone will question it because it's not sourced - they'll probably still question it even if it is - but to be safe you should cite something at least. If you want to change it back, go ahead, I won't delete it again, but if I don't say something, I assure you, someone else probably will. Cyberia23 (talk) 17:49, 12 May 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File source problem with File:Richardgoldberg3.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Richardgoldberg3.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.

If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Mediation Cabal: Request for participation

[edit]

Dear Lostinlodos: Hello. This is just to let you know that you've been mentioned in the following request at the Mediation Cabal, which is a Wikipedia dispute resolution initiative that resolves disputes by informal mediation.

The request can be found at Wikipedia:Mediation Cabal/Cases/31 October 2011/Blue Screen of Death.

Just so you know, it is entirely your choice whether or not you participate. If you wish to do so, and we'll see what we can do about getting this sorted out. At MedCab we aim to help all involved parties reach a solution and hope you will join in this effort.

If you have any questions relating to this or any other issue needing mediation, you can ask on the case talk page, the MedCab talk page, or you can ask the mediator, Scjessey, at their talk page. MedcabBot (talk) 13:45, 1 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Disaster films

[edit]

I'm sorry, but we cannot carry on like this. I will move all the redlinks to a sandbox page and post again here with the details. It is OK to add In use to an article for a while while you are actively editing it, but we cannot block development of an article for months at a time. I'm telling you this quite clearly so you can concentrate on what is clearly of much more importance. If, later, you want help merging any changes from sandbox to the main article, just ask and I will be happy to help. --Mirokado (talk) 21:25, 21 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I have moved the redlinks to List_of_disaster_films/Sandbox. --Mirokado (talk) 00:34, 22 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Good call on moving redlinks. Because of my FireFox settings in saving my complete history for the Web History Repository project I have the colours set to html/default standards and didn't even realise they where red links. They all show up blue or purple for me. Thanks. I'll go through them one by one in the next few days over this holiday (US) weekend and figure if there is anything in there worth saving but a quick glance says probably not. I'll also move it into my own userspace sandbox to save it from vandalism deletion later on as it's shown up to happen in the past. That way anything unmerged can reside in there indefinitely for an occasional check.

I'm thinking keeping anything older than 1975 and newer than 2010; as well as FILM Magazine verified films over 1 million in profits (alone, not total). Sorting that is easiest as I can script a bot to scan and verify dates and crosscheck FMOD easily. I've been watching trailers for some of these the last few weeks and figuring out what to do with what. That said, I totally agree with removing red links, in general; with the noted three exceptions. Thoughts?Lostinlodos (talk) 16:12, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You are welcome to do more or less what you like with red links in the sandbox. My suggestion would be to place the links you have mentioned in a separate, first section so that editors looking for articles to create have some guidance as to priority. Since the redlinks are now in a sandbox there is no particular urgency to delete any of them unless it is clear that they really are total rubbish.
As far as the article is concerned, I will move any new redlinks to the sandbox rather than deleting them as I have been for the last month or so. The article style is currently, links to existing articles with no per-entry references (each article must of course provide sourced justification for the appearance in this list and notability). Any redlinks are thus totally unsourced and must for that reason be removed from the article. It is the responsibility of the original editor (or anyone else wishing to restore it) to resolve any source problems for material removed as unsourced. For this list that means creating a new article. It is essential to keep the main article contents to the same quality we require of new entries, both to act as a reasonable example for inexperienced editors and so that we have clear and objective criteria for evaluating new content and moving it if necessary. --Mirokado (talk) 20:47, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Erratic section title hierarchy practice

[edit]

Your recent edit to Amazon Kindle is appreciated. However your proposed hierarchy of the sections seems to be not what you may have intended. I have made corrections already to your edit, and you can see my changes here.

Specifically, your error was to push subheadings outwards instead of inwards. For example, where you may have intended the following hierarchy:
===Kindle 4th Generation===
====Kindle (2011)====
====Kindle Touch====
====Kindle Fire Tablet====
resulting in: demonstration removed

You had instead created the following hierarchy:
===Kindle 4th Generation===
==Kindle (2011)==
==Kindle Touch==
==Kindle Fire Tablet==
resulting in: demonstration removed

Please take note of your error in future edits. Thank you :) -- ADTC Talk Ctrb . 16:33, 1 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Since you already took notice of the error, I'm removing the demonstration here so that your talk page behaves properly. Otherwise it starts having improper sections on your Talk page, such as "Kindle (2011)" etc. :) PS: You don't need to reply or do anything in response. -- ADTC Talk Ctrb . 04:23, 2 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Garbage on Talk:Parallel ATA (never say "never"...)

[edit]

Editing or removal of others' "comments" (I use the term loosely) is in fact sometimes allowed. Please see WP:TPOC point 3; this was vandalism, pure and simple. If you insist you could move it to the archive page but as the IP didn't actually say anything, I don't see the point. Jeh (talk) 21:35, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Point taken. I wasn't really quoting a rule, just reverting a removal. After reading the talk rules, and ignoring the ignore all rules rule, ;) Lostinlodos (talk) 22:15, 16 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1932 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.
